Please see below the types of advising services offered and in what format. Dates and times may vary, therefore we recommend you check for updates often.
Spring 2025
Quick Advising Sessions!
Chat, Drop-In, and Virtual advising sessions will be available for current NVC students who are in need of quick assistance (average 15-20 minutes). Options are available for students who need the following quick advising services:
- Prerequisite Overrides
- Assistance with ACES navigation
- Assistance with identifying resources to support your success
- Assistance with completing Change of Primary Institution (CPI) to Northwest Vista College
- Assistance with a Financial Aid Appeal (SAP) appeal for students not yet assigned a certified academic advisor
- Assistance with reviewing Course Program of Study (CPOS) for financial aid purposes
- Information on the Academic Dismissal Process
Advising appointments are Available!
Please log into ACES student email regularly. You will find a weekly email from your assigned advisor with information on contacting and scheduling an advising session. You may also use the quick guide linked below:

- Course Planning: Creating and updating your Individual Success Plan (ISP)
- Degree Audits
- Degree/Career Planning
- Transfer Advising
- Graduation Applications
- Financial Aid Appeal/Satisfactory Academic Progress (SAP) appeals
- PIN Release
- Mandatory Academic Standing, Academic Probation check-ins

Monday - Wednesday: 8:00am-6:00pm
Thursday: 8:00am-7:00pm
Friday: 8:00am-5:00pm
1st Saturday of the Month: 9:00am-1:00pm
